GREAT JOB KNIGHTS!!!!!!
The Knights Open was a great success today. Thanks to all the volunteer parents that lent their time, efforts, and support to a great
tournament. There are also coaches from our past years that do not have kids wrestling in the club anymore that were kind enough
to get up early and help with the preliminary weigh ins and bracketing to get the day off to a good start, their past experience was
appreciated. Lastly but certainly not least, a huge thank-you to Coach Monty, Coach Jeremy, and the high school wrestlers for all
their donated time at the tables, the head table, breaking down, and cleaning up. It couldn't have been done without all of the efforts
put forth by this extraordinary group.
Our young wrestlers put a great effort into todays matches and we came away with a lot of wins. Even in our losses, we were
aggressive and didn't give up, that says a great deal about the character these young wrestlers have. Keep up the good work and
the effort that you're putting into the practices and it will continue to pay off at the tournaments.
See you guys on the mat.

Re: Mock Tournament, Raffle and Knights Open
Parents,
Here we go. Our wrestling season is ready to begin. Today’s Mock Tournament is unique to the KWC. Many clubs are participating in “Real”
tournaments today.
We choose to start the season with a mock (practice) tournament to give our wrestlers a chance to get the “feel” of competition in the comfort
of our wrestling room.
Next week we “start” at home at the Knights Open.
The Knights Open and the Raffle are the major income sources for the club. This is how we keep our participation fees among the lowest in
the IKWF (Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation). We are committed to that and have a goal to have reduced fees next year.
We need your help on both the Knights Open and Raffle fronts. By volunteering some time next Sunday you will be part of a successful
tournament.
The raffle is off and running. We have distributed (740) tickets to date. The goal is to issue and sell all (1000) tickets. Please help your
wrestler sell at least one pack of (10) tickets. If each wrestler sells (19) tickets we will reach our goal!
We still need to get 260 tickets in peoples hand to sell. If you have not received any tickets, please see Coach George, Coach Steve, or
Coach Bob.
The drawing is Saturday January 16, 2010. We have time to sell all of the tickets. Please join us in this effort.
The drawing will be at Fireside Grille in Sugar Grove. This will be at our inaugural KWC Social. There will be additional information shared
soon.
If you are able to volunteer next week please see Coach Steve or Coach Bob.
Thank you for your attention and let the fun begin.

Hello again everyone.
I am running behind in getting the website updated so i would like to apologize for any inconvenience that you've had. There are a few items
that i would like to remind everyone of:
TOURNAMENT CHANGES:
- We will be attending the Huntley "Red Raider Rumble" on January 31, 2010. This date was originally a "to be determined" date on
our tournament schedule which has now been filled.
- We have also changed the tournament location for the date of Feb 7, 2010. We will attending the Tomcat Invitational at Aurora East
High School on this date instead of going to Mendota.
PARENTS SOCIAL:
The First Annual Knights Wrestling Club Social was a great success. Everyone who attended had a great evening filled with a lot of laughs
and good company.
We would like to take this opportunity and thank all the wrestlers for their efforts in the raffle tickets sales and let them know that they have
set a pretty high bar for the years to come. The winners have been drawn and congratulation to the following:
1st place: Stacey Sikorski
2nd place: Cathy Eggenberger (who graciously donated $100.00 back to the club)
3rd place: Dave Potrawski
We also raffled off a Delnor Healthclub Membership that was donated by the Gagne family. Coach Robinson and his family will enjoy the
membership as they were the last lucky winners of the night.
Again, thanks for all the effort that has gone into the fundraising efforts for the club this year.
There are only four more tournaments before Regionals. Let's keep working hard in practice and striving to reach our goals for the year.
The first goal as Coach McCaffery says is to have fun.
See you on the mat. Coach Redman
